Frequently Asked Questions

Can we meet you before hand?

Yes of course!  I am more than happy to meet you over coffee. Also, all of my collections include consultations. I understand that people lead busy lives and sometimes it’s not practical to meet in person, so if you prefer I can be available to talk to you via Skype or over the phone

How far in advance should we book?

I generally get booked up within a year. I only take on 10-15 weddings a year, but I sometimes I am busier in some months than in others. If you are not sure whether I will be available for your date, just drop me message!

When do we see our photos?

I don’t know about you but I was really quite to see my wedding photos when I got married, so I know exactly what the anticipation feels like. Within a couple of days of your big day I will send you a few previews of your photos. Your full set of images will be delivered to you on a private, password protected, on-line gallery within 6-8 weeks.  During peak season this can be anywhere from 8-10 weeks. This is simply because of the time I put in to ensure that each and every one of your images has had the same care and attention, even when I am sometimes back to back with weddings.

How would you describe your photography?

I don’t fall into the light and airy style or the dark and moody, I would probably say my style is more natural, but elegant. I love being creative and I look for ways to create something completely unique to you.

Do you take candid photos?

Absolutely! If you are booking a full day package, it’s a good idea to book a second photographer as well. Whilst I am concentrating on the key moments of your day, my second photographer is able to capture those organic, unseen moments

Are you fully insured?

Yes. I have both professional indemnity and public liability insurance. I also ensure that my second photographer has the appropriate insurance and I carry a back up of my professional equipment

What happens if you are ill on the day?

Thankfully, I have never had to miss a wedding or have been late for a wedding. My second photographer is someone who I use and work with for the majority of my weddings.  Her style is the same as mine and she also someone I would trust 100% to take over for me if the worst should happen. If she is not available for your wedding, I am part of huge network of photographers so I would always be able to find you a replacement professional photographer. Normally that person would be someone I have worked with before

We love it! How do we book you?

If you are ready to book, I like to have a chat with you so you can tell me more about your plans and also your love story. I can do this in person, via Skype or on the phone.I ask you to complete a booking form and give you a copy of a contract to sign. Everything is electronic so there is no need for pen and paper! Once all the paperwork is complete, a non-refundable booking fee of 25% is required to hold your date. This is payable within one week of signing your contract. Your balance is payable 28 days before your wedding day.

Rick & Éva

“She is lovely, true professional and her photos are just amazing. Communication with her is great too. She is very flexible and listens to any ideas and suggestions you might have. Got all the edited photos bang on the day she said they would be ready. I definitely recommend Maya to anyone, who wants to have amazing pictures of their event”
