Wedding Top Tips – 8 Steps to achieving perfect skin for your wedding day
Your perfect pre-wedding skincare routine – tips from KM Beauty
We all want to look and feel amazing on our wedding day and there is nothing like gorgeous skin to give you that radiant wedding glow. However, there is a lot to be said about starting early, so here is Keeley Mills from KM Beauty to share some top tips and your perfect pre-wedding skincare routine.
Having a regular skincare routine is really important
If there was ever a time to upgrade your skincare routine, it is certainly in the lead-up to your wedding day.
We all know that a regular skincare routine is key to healthy-looking young skin, however, this isn’t always easy with everyday life being super busy. People will easily skip their morning routine giving them an extra 10 minutes in bed or to grab that extra coffee shot, we’ve all been there, BUT don’t panic, our skin regenerates itself every 28 days, so three months with a regular skincare routine will allow plenty of time to notice an improvement in your skin’s tone and texture.
Step 1 – Chill Out and Take some ‘Me’ Time
Stress and tiredness can play a big part in showing in our skin, inflammatory conditions, for example, eczema can flare up with high-stress levels, whilst sleepless nights will mean dull-looking skin instantly. So be mindful of this and proactive with booking out some precious me-time, a relaxing facial with a face mask, eye mask, and massage once a week will be extremely beneficial.
Speaking with the professionals at least six months before your big day will always be useful, they can help with any skin care problems you may have and get started with targeted treatments e.g. Dermaplaning and for those whose skin is already behaving, it’s all about maintenance, working out a regular monthly routine of treatments suitable for your skin type.
Step 2 – It’s not just about the products….
Eating well will need to go hand in hand with any products you’re relying on for a radiant glow. The skin is our largest organ and it gives us a picture of what is going on inside the body, a well-balanced diet with plenty of H2O is certainly key. Keep an eye on any foods that are a trigger for you and think about what happens if you reduce consumption of them for a few days, weeks, or even a month prior to your wedding day.
So you’re eating well, sleeping like a baby, ditching the stress, and having regular treatments with an expert – but what should your at-home skincare routine look like?
Step 3 -Exfoliate
Liz Earle Gentle face exfoliating
Exfoliating 2-3 times a week is key and creates a smooth surface on which to apply the rest of your skincare products. Formulated with fine, spherical jojoba beads, this exfoliator gently sloughs away dead skin cells and impurities without aggravating sensitive skin.
Step 4 – Cleanse
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Rose & Lavender
Cleansing properly is the foundation of all good skincare routines, it instantly removes daily grime, pollutants and make up, to leave skin feeling comfortable, balanced and exceptionally clean.
Used with the pure cotton cloth it gently exfoliates, lifting away dead skin cells to reveal smoother, clearer and brighter-looking skin.
Step 5 – Tone
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
To use as the second step of your daily routine. Apply daily after Cleanse & Polish, morning and night, will help to refresh, soothe and brighten the appearance of your skin. Gentle on the skin it provides an instant boost of hydration to leave skin radiantly healthy-looking.
Step 6 – Face Serum
Espa Optimal Skin Pro-Serum
In the morning, once you’ve cleansed & toned apply a brightening vitamin C serum to help even out skin tone. Serums are the hardest-working part of any routine, and vitamin C provides antioxidant protection to help boost radiance
Step 7 – Moisturise
Espa Overnight Hydration Therapy
There are countless reasons why skin may start to lose its glow − stress, hormonal change and of course, growing older. Used daily this intensely hydrating overnight treatment mask will leave your skin feeling replenished and looking radiant.
Step 8 – Eye Cream
SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye Complex Cream
If stress and late nights are taking their toll, your eyes may start to look tired and the skin around the eyes can become puffy or dehydrated. Invest in a nourishing formula, to instantly soothe and hydrate the entire eye area. This can also help your wedding eye makeup blend more seamlessly into the skin.

“I’ve always loved beauty since I was a young girl, I went into childcare from school and got my qualification in everything childcare related but after we had our daughter, Summer, I wanted to work from home so knew I had to pursue that, so converted a spare bedroom and built up my client base and then moved house and made a salon downstairs so works so well around our family. I love meeting new clients and seeing their reaction after a treatment, whether that be tidy brows or a relaxing massage. My most popular treatment is massage, I have people travel from London to come for one of my massages!”
